History
Developed
in 1991 by five residents of Wilkes County, the Villages of Wilkes
was created as a locally owned and operated nursing facility to
serve the senior adults within the community. Originally
serving 61 residents in skilled nursing and 19 residents in assisted
living, we currently provide senior adults with a full continuum
of care: 7 individual homes for independent living, occupancy
for 72 residents in assisted living, 130 guests in our skilled
nursing facility, and 12 guests in our Special Care Unit serving
those with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. In addition,
we received approval in 2007 to enlarge our assisted living facility
to accommodate an additional 30 residents.
The
Villages takes great pride in our reputation within our community.
We continue to be owned by a Wilkes County native, insuring our
responsiveness to our community; and our management and operations
have remained consistent. We dedicate ourselves to continuing
the Villages' Journey by challenging ourselves to remain forerunners
in the field of long term care.
We
believe that we have served our community well. As we move
forward, we are mindful of the needs of our current guests and community
as we strive to develop innovative plans to provide optimal care.
